Recently some totally “out of the box” and wacko activities have caught layman’s imagination.
Previously it was Ice bucket Challenge, that hit the headlines which meant dumping a bucket of ice water on somebody’s head which was carried out in order to spread awareness for ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis).
What is Condom Challenge?
This time round, the water will fall out from (not much pleasing) condom. Yes, you read it right. Such is the infectious and compelling facet about this whole internet. It’s been there on internet since few weeks now and it is quite strange to know that no matter how insane it appears to be, people are willing to pull out all stops to carry out themselves. Some even claim doing such otherwise “absurd and idiotic” acts puts their adrenaline pumping.
The “condom challenge” as it is popularly called is evidently being done to encourage safe sex. If you are bewildered by the term, blame it on teens. It is these teenagers who do something vaguely stupid and in overnight make it a fast catching trend by religiously following it.
But, going by the videos that are going viral, it definitely does not look safe. What most people are overlooking or failing to understand while being motivated in doing it is that on one hand water is slippery and condoms are profusely tight and possibly suffocating. Which again brings us back to the primary question, should it be done? Is it safe enough to place it on your head.
How It All Started?
It all started a week before, when two random guys were apparently playing around with a mere “balloon”. After you go by the complete video,

you make sense of it that it is not a balloon instead a condom. And mind you, condoms are a lot stretchier than the usual balloons. And then water is quite heavy and henceforth, you can see how fatal it can be!
This “Condom Challenge” has absolutely taken the social media by storm. It is interesting to note that the original video attracted as many as 9,000 re tweets and before you could wink it was already a massive trend.

If we further go deep into this whole condom challenge, you will be amazed to know in 2013, teens were doing a much more stupid condom challenge, which had to do with snorting a condom. Now when we scale that one along with this act, both are highly grave and dangerous for you. Do not do it.
How Does It Work?
It is a two man game, you need the assistance of your partner in this. Your pal will hold a water filled condom above your head and then drop it frantically upon your head. When dropped, the condom wraps around the person’s face, forming a huge water bubble around their head.
Mishaps Involved
Various people have raised eyebrows about the safety of the condom challenge. A seventeen year old girl reportedly died while attempting this challenge. Another victim from Austin, Texas inhaled a dangerous combination of lubricant and water, causing her to drown.
It is widely noted that massive chunk of people who practice is fall under the category of teenage. It is because they don’t believe that anything evil will happen to them. Impulsiveness and young blood are the main impetus in doing such things. They live in now and fail to think beyond that.
Stupidity knows no bounds. But it should not even be as lame as putting your life in danger and hence feeding your adrenaline!
