Children are wonderful and always a gift to those who are lucky enough to have them. Children can give your life a new perspective altogether. They can turn you around, inside out. Their mere presence in your life can actually change the way you live and see your life. But those who do not have their own children need not feel bad about it at all. You can always adopt one and feel good about having carved another person’s life along with yours. Here are the 5 parenting tips for those who are willing to adopt one.(we are considering the child to be an adolescent and not an infant because an infant needs no such special care, if adopted)

1. Make him comfortable :

As soon as you bring home your child, introduce him to yourself and be as if you are his friends. Do not make him uncomfortable by asserting the fact that you are his parents and that there are certain protocol that needs to be followed between a child parents relationship. Be his friends; know his interests, his hobbies, his favourite game, favourite dish, and favourite t.v program. Get familiar with his needs and desires and start it off by being his friend. Share talks with him, play games, break the ice and most importantly be with him all the time to make him feel cared for.

2. Spend bed time with him :

If you are busy the whole day, working out, then go fetch some good bed time with your child. In fact, if you are not busy working and tend to spend enough good time with him the whole day, even then you must fetch some quality bed time at night, telling him stories, sharing your own little experiences and knowing him better. Make him sleep with you so that the comfort comes in more easily, as you get intimate and cozy with him. Greet him with a kiss the next morning and help him be ready.

3. Plan a daily outing :

Even if you have the least of time available after getting home from work, make sure that you take your child out for some time. Go on a ice-cream treat every day after dinner or simply go for a night walk, where you can get to spend some quality time with him. Pamper him with your love, talk to him freely and owe him as yours. On your daily outing, you can talk to him about his friends, his teachers at school, his studies etc. This will help in further breaking the ice and make him feel even more comfortable.

4. Own a pet if he likes it :

Owning a pet can work wonders in terms of breaking the ice between you and him. You both can bond over looking after your pet. Feed him together, play with him and take him out together. This way you can bond quickly and strongly. You will have all the more reasons to talk over and laugh over. Also, while you will teach your child the way to handle a pet, you will tend to get closer to him. Bonding over a pet is a great idea because that way you both grow and learn together.

5. Tempt him with your love, not stuffs :

Extend a warm heart to him and make him feel bonded with love and not with materialistic stuffs. Although you may get him as many expensive gifts as you want, but initially to make him owe himself to you, you need to shower purely love and nothing else.
