5 Home Remedies For Treating Dry Skin

The kind of care is that our skin needs is determined by the type of skin we have. There are 4 types of skin- normal, oily, dry and sensitive and each types has its own complications. Olive Oil & Egg Yolk: Olive oil is one of the key ingredients which is used to treat dry flaky skin. It is a natural antioxidant with vitamin E and K that works wonderfully. The egg yolk has vitamin A which that controls the shedding of the skin and makes it soft and smooth. Take a teaspoon of olive oil and mix it with two egg yolks whipping together to make a stable consistency. This mixture is like a amalgamation which is a must for treating dry skin.  

Coconut Oil: Coconut oil is another wonder for dry skin and one of its specialties is moisturizing. It makes the skin soft and removes its previous scaly characteristics by moistening the skin in natural way. This oil has sufficient amount of fatty acids which make up for any loss of moisture from the skin. There are so many ways you can use it. It works best when left overnight. Apply proper amount of it to the problem areas like hands, cuticles and joints before going to sleep and wash it off next morning. You can also add a teaspoon to your bath. Do this every day.  

Avocado & Honey: Honey softens and moisturizes the dry skin. Avocado and honey, both have good qualities for treating dry skin and when they combine together, they are a good source of sterolin and humectants which are used to treat the misery of dry skin. Just mix a half cup of honey and half cup of mashed avocados and apply. Leave this pack for 15 minutes and then rinse off.  

Banana & Yogurt: These are like the God gifts for dry skin. This mixture not only moisturizes the skin but also exfoliates the dead cells. This mixture is prepared by mashing a ripe banana with yogurt to form a paste. Apply it on the dry patches and leave it for half an hour. Rinse off with warm water. Not just banana, but its peels also contain antioxidants, minerals and vitamins which contribute to the well being of dry skin. Rubbing banana peel on the dry skin surface will relieve from skin inflammation.  

Petroleum Jelly & Dry Skin: This mixture is used to pamper the skin. This duo is the perfect to slough away the flaking skin and prepare a softer smooth surface.
