Holi is a playful festival. And just the fun element present in this festival, does not make it any less virtuous. Holi is a prosperous festival, yet some uncivilised elements of society take it as a ground to extend unethical behavior to people, especially women. So, here is a guide to avoid some inept and inappropriate gestures which might offend others.
1. Do not tease animals just for the sake of some fun
Never try to color animals. They will be scared or might just turn up with a furious reaction. Avoid digging fun out of teasing animals. Some people also strike balloons on them just to see their reaction and derive fun out of it. But this gesture is again very much absurd and unjustified. So kindly avoid it.
2. Do not intentionally target women
Never forcibly color women. And also, never color women who you don’t know as well. Different women have different levels of comforts. They might just hate your gesture and go furious about it, while some might get scared as well. Holi is a festival to celebrate and not irritate people. What is fun for you, might be a fear to others. So kindly be sensitive enough to consider everyone’s spirit of enjoying the festival.
3. Do not use balloons on women
Although some women might like this playful gesture and some might even do it themselves, but still balloons can be embarrassing to them, if struck at inappropriate places. It might make them conscious and uncomfortable. So, avoid using balloons on them.
4. Go easy with drinks
Yes, of course! Bhang doubles the holi fun and all that stuff. But only limited consumption does that. Once you overly consume it, you are not even in the state to spell fun, let alone having it. So, kindly have it in limits to be in your senses and derive real fun with colors and other stuffs.
5. Do not overdo the coloring
Never over color someone’s face or hair specially. A reverse reaction of the chemicals present in the colors might badly affect someone’s skin and hairs. And face is the most important part of someone’s body. So try not to harm it in any cost.
Holi can be fun as no other festival. So, let it be joyous and prosperous. Have fun and let have fun!
